What is politicalmemes.org? It's basically what the name suggests: a place for political memes! Need some memes? Here they are! Enjoy them! Are they all leftist? Yes, because we are good people. Is politicalmemes.org a Fediverse (Mastodon/Pixelfed) or Atproto (Bluesky) instance? No, it is not. Politicalmemes.org uses the Fediverse and Atproto to calculate likes and follows, but if you want to follow one of our accounts, you will need a Fediverse account elsewhere. Bluesky? Didn't that get cancelled? Update: 26 Oct 2025 It has been brought to our attention that Bluesky has issues and may not be in line with our political views. While we actively distance ourselves from Bluesky's decision to block several trans authors over certain posts about JK Rowling, we've decided for now to not fully disconnect from Bluesky and for now disregard this incident as an incident. We have however placed Bluesky on a less prominent place in our systems and encourage new users to use a different PDS. It should be noted that Atproto (Bluesky) was meant to be a federated system, like the Fediverse (Mastodon/Pixelfed), but since there aren't many open Atproto instances, the vast majority of the users are on Bluesky's own PDS, bluesky.social. This gives Bluesky more power than we would like to see, and we are keeping a close eye on them. However, rest assured that should Bluesky try to remove any of our users' posts, they will always still be visible on politicalmemes.org If I search for @username@politicalmemes.org on Mastodon, it brings me to an account on another Fediverse instance Yes, because as said, politicalmemes.org is not an instance of itself, but it is configured to redirect accounts to their respective accounts on their own instance. I make political memes, can I create an account on politicalmemes.org? Politicalmemes.org is currently in testing phase. Creating an account is invite-only. Is there an app I can use to view accounts on politicalmemes.org other than my browser? The easiest way is to follow the account you are interested in on the Fediverse (Mastodon, Pixelfed, Friendica). Alternatively, each account can separately be installed as a PWA on your phone by visiting the account's main page and selecting "add to home screen" in your browser's settings. Alternatively, the newest three posts of each account are available in an RSS feed which you can read using your favourite RSS reader. What's that nifty script you use to combine the Fediverse and Bluesky? Can I use it myself? Yes you can. It's called Atfedi and it's available on Github! |
